Our Story

In 2019, the founders of HPCF began a path to offer families of hospice patients an opportunity to give back when monetary donations were not possible. When a hospice patient passes away, they leave behind more than precious memories. Loved ones and family members are left with the decision of what to do with their clothes, furniture, and other tangible items.

By providing an outlet for these loved ones and family members, through our thrift store, we can take slightly used items for resell. Proceeds from our thrift store operations help to fund our programs and reach more patients across South Carolina. Proceeds also help to bridge the gap between grants and monetary donations when giving is down. To learn more about our thrift store and how you can help, click here!

August is "back to school" month!

Exciting Changes Coming Soon!

Due to the amazing support from our community, and the growth and success of the thrift store, we are relocating to a larger and more sustainable location. We have decided to rename our thrift store, Charity for All of South Carolina (“CFASC”).

We realized over the past few months that our thrift store, in conjunction with HPCF’s core programs, help a wide range of individuals in so many ways. We are no longer just about helping hospice patients and grieving children, we help EVERYONE!!!

We will post updates right here on our website and also on our social media pages for where and when we will be moving!!! The thrift store can be reached by calling or texting 864-285-8060 or sending an email to thriftstore@hpcfoundation.org.

Community Partners & Impact

Since we opened in November 2023, we have been able to partner with local businesses to accept their slightly used goods. One of these local businesses is Junk King of Spartanburg. To learn more about what services they offer and how their donations support our thrift store click here!

Our thrift store accepts slightly used goods from businesses and individuals and then resells them to our customers. Some of the benefits that our thrift store provides:

*Proceeds from the thrift store help to bridge the gap with grants and individual donations for HPCF.

*By donating to a thrift store, we are putting less waste in our landfills, improving the environment.

*By donating to a community thrift store, everyone is involved in its growth and success. â€‹â€‹â€‹â€‹â€‹

Sponsorship Opportunities

With the expansion of our thrift store, we will be able to fund more applications, provide needed grief materials to community partners and schools, and hold our nationally recognized grief camp events in more areas around the state. Helping those in our community is the foundation on which HPCF was built by our founders. We want CFASC to be a community-built thrift store where everyone contributes to its success. And, because we are not owned by a corporation or have executives to pay, more of our sales go right back to HPCF’s programs.

We have established six tiers of sponsorships for various types of donors and giving levels. Each tier will provide recognition of the donor or sponsor. Or, the donation/sponsorship can be made “in honor of” or “in memory of” someone. We will have a Community Giving Wall located at the front entrance of our new store’s location to recognize all donors and sponsorships plus additional recognition perks for higher giving.
